In order to utilize a custom datasource or widget, it must be added to the system as a plugin.

Click +Add icon while the Portal interface is displayed in the developer console

Select the Plugin button. Specify a unique name and the url to the plugin javascript file.

Click Create

The plugin will be listed in the Plugins section of the user interface.
